CITIZENS ASKED TO SUBMIT QUESTIONS FOR ‘ASK THE PARISH’ SEGMENT

View the first-ever 'Ask the Parish' segment here

St. Charles Parish wants to answer your burning questions.

That’s the aim of a new segment being planned for the parish government access channel, Cox Cable channel 6.

The project will give citizens a new insight into parish government. The short spots will highlight questions asked by the public to any parish department or official.

Videographer Melanie Worrall will produce the question-and-answer segment.

“When these Q&A segments air on television citizens will have a new outlet to voice their concerns, parish representatives will have a new venue to explain how government works and everyone will learn more about the parish,” she said.

The new project can serve a variety of purposes, according to Renee Allemand, St. Charles Parish Public Information Officer.

“Council and committee meetings aren’t for everyone, and sometimes it seems those are the only interaction citizens can have with local government,” she said.“Whether a person is looking for general information about parish functions or specifics about current projects, these segments can help.”

Parish residents can submit their questions via e-mail at channel6@stcharlesgov.net. Allemand can be reached by phone at (985) 783-5000. Participants must be willing to ask their question on air as part of the taped segment.

The mission of St. Charles Parish government is to provide high quality, efficient services to sustain and enhance the quality of life for all residents of St.Charles Parish.
