DESTREHAN FAMILY LAUNCEHSE WEB SITE IN HONOR OF MOTHER
For immediate release May 8, 2008
On Mother's Day, May 11, a Web site - www.asignofhope.com - will be launched in honor of the late Lynn Vinnett, who passed away from breast cancer in 2007. The site will serve as a messenger of hope for those struggling with life's problems.
H.O.P.E stands for Helping Other People Excel. The site is a grassroots effort to give back to the community through inspirational community service programs, said Darren Vinnett, Lynn's husband and director of the non-profit organization.
Some people's cancer might be their finances, their marriage or their attitudes, he said. The Web site will help people share their stories of struggle and inspire others on how they can overcome obstacles.
Vinnett said on Mother's Day he would offer a free inspirational gift to everyone who e-mails him at asignofhope@gmail.com.
Sponsores can log onto the site to advertise their business, and others can tell their personal stories of struggle, victory and accomplishment or participate in the H.O.P.E. card program. The card program is geared toward sharing messages of faith, hope and inspiration through positive expressions. The cards feature illustrations and unique designs and will be distributed to select public facilities and various retail outlets.
The organization also has several youth mentorship and entrepreneurship opportunities for youth in the community ages 8 through 21 this summer.
Volunteers, writers, graphic designers, Web designers and administrative assistants are encouraged to lend their gift to support this cause.
