ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
The Parish of Saint Charles, hereby advertises for bids for construction of Road Maintenance 2012 facilities under Project No. P111002-3 as follows:
Contract Owner: St. Charles Parish
Contract Name: Road Maintenance 2012
Principal Work Location: The Contract Work will be located on both the East and West Banks of St. Charles Parish.
Description of Basic Work: The Contract Work comprises the repair of existing asphalt streets and/or the construction of new asphalt streets in St. Charles Parish, Louisiana.
Bids: Sealed Bids must be received by the ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, Parish of St. Charles, Louisiana, 15045 River Road, Court House Building, Hahnville, Louisiana, 70057, either by registered or certified mail with return receipt requested or hand delivered or electronically at
www.centralbidding.com,
no later than 10:00 a.m. local time on August 2, 2012. Promptly thereafter, the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the Council Chambers of the St. Charles Parish Court House Building. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, and to disregard all nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced or conditional Bids.
Bidding Documents: The Bidding Documents (the Contract Documents, Specifications and Drawings) are available to Contractors who are properly licensed in Louisiana or to bona fide suppliers of materials and equipment for purchase and/or review at the office of the Engineer for the contract, G.E.C., Inc. located at 3445 North Causeway Blvd., Suite 401, Metairie, Louisiana 70002; (504) 838-6009.
A payment of $50.00 in cash or check payable to the Engineer will be required for each complete set of the Bidding Documents. This payment is refundable as provided in the Louisiana Revised Statues.
Pre-Bid Conference: A Pre-Bid Conference to discuss the scope of the project and the requirements of the Bidding and Contract Documents will be held on July 19, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Charles Parish Department of Public Works and Wastewater, 100 River Oaks Dr. Destrehan, Louisiana 70047. Attendance of the Pre-Bid Conference is highly recommended.
Each bidder must deposit with his/her bid, security in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid in the form of a certified check, cashier’s check or bid bond. If the bid is submitted electronically and a certified or cashier’s check is used for bid bond, then the actual check shall be delivered to the St. Charles Parish Council within 24 (twenty four) hours of bid opening. Electronic bids shall contain all the same documents that are required in a physically delivered bid.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond written by a company licensed to do business in Louisiana, in the amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Certificates of Insurance will also be required as specified.
The outside of the bid envelope must contain the submitting firm’s name, your Louisiana Contractors License number, the project number, the project title, and acknowledge all addenda.
