Recognized political party candidates are certified to SOS by the state central committee prior to 5:00 p.m. on 9/2/2008. If not properly certified by state central committee by the deadline, then national chairman of the Party certifies presidential candidates to SOS prior to 5:00 p.m. on 9/5/2008. (Recognized political parties include: Democratic, Republican, Green, Libertarian, and Reform)
Other presidential candidates - Qualifying period begins 8/5/2008, ends 9/2/2008.
