Legal Services :

The Department of Legal Services represents the Parish President and Parish Council whenever legal services are needed. This department also advises the Parish President and Council when opinions are required, and prosecutes or defends all suits or actions in which the Parish President or Council are parties. Mr. Leon "Sonny" Vial III serves as Director of this department.

The department continues to review policies and procedures for various Committees, Boards and commissions to insure compliance with State, Federal and Local Laws. In addition, the Department of Legal Services has increased its responsibility in providing aid to the other Departments, Boards, Committees and Commissions and has established procedures that will endure and continue to aid future administrations.
